A Henfield-based outfit working across East & West Sussex — lofts and extensions, kitchens and bathrooms, and the fine joinery that ties it all together. Andy runs every project personally, with a trusted crew brought in as the work needs.

— The story

Andy's name's on the door.

Andrew Taylor runs Taylored Carpentry & Building from Henfield, West Sussex. The story is simple: he wanted to be the builder he'd want to hire — turn up on time, finish what's started, leave the place tidier than he found it.

The team is small and family-run. Most of the work comes by recommendation — from clients who've had us in once and want us back, or from neighbours who've seen the finish over the fence.

We work across East and West Sussex — Henfield, Hurstpierpoint, Steyning, Brighton, Hove, Horsham, Worthing, Lewes, Eastbourne and beyond — on lofts, garage conversions, extensions, kitchens, outdoor work and full refurbishments. Every job is run by Andrew personally.

A porch rebuild — rotted through behind a coat of paint. Most of the quote was for things you'd never see again — new timber, proper flashing, the right detailing where the gable meets the brick. No shortcuts, and another twenty years on the clock.

Four things we do differently.

One name, one number
Andy runs every job himself. The trades brought in are people he's worked with for years — never the cheapest agency body that turned up that morning.
II.
Tidy as we go
Site cleared every evening. Dust sheets, swept floors, no nasty surprises. Living in the house is part of the brief.

Honest, itemised quotes
Written, itemised quotes so you can see exactly where the money goes. No vague "extras" at the end.
IV.
Built to last
Materials and methods chosen for the next forty years, not the next forty weeks. Most of our work is still standing without a snag list.

First visit
We come round, have a look, drink a cup of tea, and listen. No charge, no commitment.

Quote & plan
A written, itemised quote within a week. If planning or structural drawings are needed, we'll point you to the right people.

On site
A clear start date, a realistic finish date, and a single person you ring if you need anything. Daily tidy-down, weekly check-in.

Hand-over
We don't disappear. A walk-through, a snag list (usually empty), and a year's call-back guarantee on everything we've built.
